The classic Paramus repair is at the junction between roof sections on a split-level: the low roof over the garage or family room meets the wall of the upper level, and the step flashing there was often installed poorly or caulked over. Another is the shallow valley where two low-pitched roofs meet, which clogs with leaves from the mature trees now on these streets and backs water up under the shingles.
Some Paramus roofing calls turn out to be chimney problems. Post-war chimneys are usually single-flue brick with a thin crown that cracks, and the flashing around them on a low-pitched roof takes more standing water than on a steep roof. We check both on every inspection.
Repair or replace? What we tell Paramus homeowners
If your Paramus roof has a single layer of shingles that are still flexible and the leak is at a flashing detail, valley or a few lifted tabs, repair is the right call. If the roof already has two layers, repairs are harder to do well because the second layer never lies flat over the first, and the next step is a full tear-off. We tell you which situation you are in with photos.
For commercial flat roofs, localized seam and penetration repairs are routine, and we work around business hours where possible. Estimates are free for residential and commercial work.
