We install architectural asphalt shingles rated for high wind on sloped roofs and single-ply membrane on flat porch roofs, additions and downtown commercial buildings. For homes with failing slate or tile, we lay out the options, including synthetic slate and architectural shingles in slate-like tones, and are clear about where our expertise ends.
Every replacement includes full tear-off, deck inspection and repair, new underlayment with ice and water protection extended on shaded slopes, new flashing at every detail and a ventilation plan. Steep lots require access planning and landscape protection, which we handle as part of the job.
When replacement is the right call in Summit
Replacement is warranted when shingles are brittle, curling or blowing off in more than one storm, when granule loss is widespread or when leaks keep appearing in new places. If chimney repointing, new gutters or skylights are on the list, do them with the roof. Summit homes with historic designation may have exterior review requirements for a change in visible material; check with the city.
Ask for the specifics of any proposal: tear-off, ice protection extent, flashing details, ventilation and how deck repairs are priced. Those determine how the roof performs.
