On a flat roof we look at the drains, seams, parapet caps and every penetration, then repair the membrane with compatible materials. Repair or replace? What we tell Newton homeowners
On Newton's older houses, a repair is often the right call because the roofs are steep, well-drained and built with good framing. If the shingles still flex and the problem is a valley, a dormer or chimney flashing, we repair that detail properly and leave the sound roof alone.
