Roofing and chimney work in Mount Olive
Mount Olive Township sits in the Highlands at the western edge of Morris County, where I-80, Route 46 and Route 206 meet. It takes in two very different communities: Budd Lake, which grew up around the lake of the same name with summer cottages that later became year-round homes, and Flanders, which is largely subdivisions and townhouse developments built from the 1970s onward. Along the interstate the township also has large corporate, warehouse and light-industrial buildings with wide flat roofs.
Asset Roofing & Chimney provides roof repair, roof replacement and chimney repair across Mount Olive, from the lakefront streets of Budd Lake to the Flanders developments and the commercial buildings near I-80. We are based in Cliffside Park in Bergen County and serve all of North New Jersey. We are licensed and insured, estimates are free, and we handle both residential and commercial roofs.
Housing in Mount Olive
Mount Olive's housing falls into three groups. Around Budd Lake there are older, smaller houses on tight lots, many of them former seasonal cottages that were winterized and enlarged. Flanders and the newer parts of Budd Lake are dominated by 1970s through 2000s colonials, split-levels and large townhouse and condominium communities with shared roofs and prefabricated fireplaces. The I-80 corridor carries office, distribution and manufacturing buildings with low-slope membrane roofs.
Weather and exposure
At Highlands elevation, Mount Olive gets colder winters and more snow than the eastern half of the county, and snow stays on the roof longer. Budd Lake adds humidity and open-water wind across the lakefront lots, while the wooded ridges around Flanders bring heavy leaf fall and shade. Large commercial roofs near the interstate are fully exposed to wind and must drain heavy summer downpours.
