Roofing and chimney work in Kingwood
Kingwood Township is a farming township in western Hunterdon County, stretching from the Delaware River across an upland of open fields, preserved farmland and small crossroads villages such as Baptistown. It is among the most rural places in the county. Homes are spread thinly along country roads on large lots, with long views across fields that also mean long, unbroken exposure to wind and storms.
Asset Roofing & Chimney provides roof repair, roof replacement and chimney repair throughout Kingwood Township. We are licensed and insured, based in Cliffside Park in Bergen County, and we serve all of North New Jersey. We specialize in shingle and flat roofing and full chimney service, and we plan our work around the realities of rural properties: long drives, wells and septic fields, and homes heated by wood. Estimates are free.
Housing in Kingwood
Kingwood's housing is mostly detached homes on large rural lots. Older farmhouses with barns and outbuildings are scattered across the township, along with ranches, split-levels, capes and colonials built from the mid-1900s onward, many set well back from the road. Asphalt shingle is the standard on houses, with metal common on farm buildings. Wood stoves, fireplaces and propane or oil heat are typical.
Weather and exposure
Kingwood's upland is open and gently rolling, and in many places there is little between a house and the horizon. Wind hits roofs broadside, thunderstorms build over the fields with gusts and occasional hail, and snow drifts against the lee side of roofs and chimneys. Homes along the river slopes are more sheltered but contend with trees and damp.
