Roofing and chimney work in Ramsey
Ramsey is a borough in northwest Bergen County, close to the Ramapo foothills and the New York state line. It has a traditional downtown around Main Street and its rail station, residential neighbourhoods that run from older homes near the center to post-war and later subdivisions, and a long commercial corridor along Route 17 lined with retail, office and auto dealership buildings under flat and low-slope roofs.
Asset Roofing & Chimney serves Ramsey from our base in Cliffside Park. We repair and replace shingle roofs on the borough's homes, handle flat and low-slope roofs on the Route 17 and downtown commercial buildings, and provide full chimney service. We are licensed and insured, and estimates are free.
Housing in Ramsey
Ramsey's housing is mostly single-family. Near the downtown and rail station are older frame homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s, along with some mixed-use buildings on Main Street. Much of the borough was developed from the 1950s through the 1970s with colonials, split-levels, ranches and bi-levels, and later decades added larger colonials and townhouse communities. Route 17 carries a substantial concentration of commercial buildings with flat roofs.
Weather and exposure
Ramsey is inland and farther north than most of Bergen County, with rolling terrain and mature trees. Winters tend to be colder with more snow than in the Hudson-side boroughs, which raises ice-dam risk on homes and snow-load and drainage concerns on large flat commercial roofs. Tree debris and branch damage are common on residential streets.
