Roofing and chimney work in Bogota
Bogota is a small, densely built borough on the east bank of the Hackensack River, directly across from the county seat. Its streets climb gently from the riverfront, lined with early twentieth-century frame houses, two-families and a scattering of later homes, with a compact commercial district of older storefront buildings. Most of the town was built out well before World War II, and its roofs and chimneys show their age in familiar ways.
Asset Roofing & Chimney is a short drive from Bogota, based in Cliffside Park. We repair and replace shingle roofs on the borough's older homes, handle flat roofs on two-families and storefront buildings, and provide full chimney service from inspection to relining and rebuilding. We are licensed and insured, and estimates are free.
Housing in Bogota
Bogota is a compact, mostly residential borough developed largely in the first half of the twentieth century. Frame single-family houses from the early 1900s through the 1930s, including foursquares, colonials and gabled homes with front porches, sit on narrow lots alongside two-family houses. Later infill added some capes and ranches. The commercial district has older one- and two-story buildings with flat roofs, and there are a few apartment buildings.
Weather and exposure
The borough sits along the Hackensack River, and the lower blocks near the water are subject to river humidity and, in places, flooding during heavy storms. Mature street trees shade many roofs and fill gutters each fall. Houses close together mean roofs and gutters often drain toward a neighbor's wall or a narrow side yard, and old brick chimneys take a steady beating from freeze-thaw.
